A Fellowship of the Ring Book Club
I’m thrilled to invite you to our next book club journey: J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Fellowship of the Ring.
This winter, we’ll be reading Tolkien the way he’s meant to be read—slowly, thoughtfully, and in community. We’ll read on our own during the week and then gather on Thursday nights at 7:30 CST to talk through what we’ve read together. Discussions typically last about an hour and are open to seasoned Tolkien lovers and first-time Middle-earth travelers alike.
Details at a glance:

This is not a speed run to Mordor. We’ll linger with the text—its friendships, its songs, its quiet acts of courage, and its deep moral imagination. Tolkien has so much to say about loyalty, temptation, hospitality, and hope, and I can’t wait to explore it together.
And yes, I am very excited to talk about how Tolkien somehow managed to write my favorite Ruth and Naomi fan fiction of all time—if you know, you know, and if you don’t, you soon will!
Whether you’re joining with family, friends, or on your own, you’re welcome at the table. Grab your copy, settle into the Shire, and let’s begin the walk together.
You don’t have to carry the ring alone.

Oh how fun! We have wrestling during that time frame. 😞
