First up is our 12-Book Basic Reading Challenge, perfect for those easing back into reading or balancing a busy life.
Have you stepped away from reading for a while—maybe due to mom brain, work fatigue, school, illness, or just the busyness of life—and want a gentle, structured way to rekindle your love for books? This is the challenge for you!
With this year’s Family theme, you’ll find categories that spark nostalgia, inspire connection, and celebrate the bonds that make us who we are. Whether you're diving into a cherished classic, exploring new stories, or rediscovering the joy of reading, this challenge offers just the right mix of simplicity and meaning.
Let’s take the first step together—your reading journey starts here! 🌟
Our 52-Book Reading Challenge is for readers who want to go all in! This challenge builds on the 12 categories from our Basic Reading Challenge and adds 40 more opportunities to stretch your literary horizons.
This isn’t just for adults—kids as young as 5 have completed this challenge! If 52 books feels overwhelming, consider tackling it as a family project. Divide the categories among family members, and take on the challenge as a team, with each person contributing their unique reads. It’s a wonderful way to connect and explore stories together while lightening the load for everyone.
With this year’s Family theme, the challenge invites you to delve into stories that celebrate relationships, heritage, and the bonds that shape us. Whether you’re reading solo or as a family, you’ve got this!
Remember, a mix of adult, children’s, and even picture books can create a well-rounded and fulfilling experience. Don’t underestimate the depth and joy a beautifully illustrated picture book can bring.

Our Family Read-Aloud Challenge is one of my favorites! This year’s Family theme makes it even more special. Gather your loved ones and share stories together—whether it’s read-alouds by the fire, audiobooks on a road trip, or cozy bedtime chapters. The goal is to create a shared family storybook of memories, adding meaningful tales to your collective vernacular that will foster closeness and provide a foundation of hope and truth for life’s challenges ahead.
Are you a college student with roommates? Why not invite them to join in on the fun? You might be surprised by how eager they are to experience the magic of a good story together.
Stories connect us, strengthen us, and give us common ground to stand on. Start building your family’s literary legacy today!
Our 20 Book Teen Reading Challenge is designed for our not-yet-adult readers who are ready to stretch their literary wings! Deciding whether to join this challenge or stick with the Children’s Reading Challenge is a personal call, and we trust you to make the choice that fits your reader best.
Are you an adult looking for a middle ground between the 12 and 52 book challenges? Or maybe you’re seeking a fun bonus summer challenge? This is a perfect option for you, too!
Our Children’s Reading Challenge is a baker’s dozen of categories crafted to spark imagination and invite readers to step into the emotional dynamics of other families. Through these stories, kids can explore interpersonal relationships, learn from others’ follies, and reflect on their own experiences in a fun and engaging way.
Whether your child loves heartwarming tales, laugh-out-loud adventures, or thought-provoking moments, this challenge offers opportunities to grow empathy and understanding—all while enjoying great books. I can’t wait to hear what your kids loved most and the lessons they’ve uncovered along the way!
