I loved Aaron's point that some of the best parts of reading books together as a family are the discussions that happen between scenes.

The picking locks was cool. One of my sons made a lego lock and key (plus a couple other lego keys that didn't work with it to prove why you needed specific keys for specific locks). After he showed it to me I finally understood how locks work. Sometimes the hands-on making and seeing is worth a thousand words, and that is what Aaron is doing in his classes. Thank you for sharing!

So much can be gleaned by hands on learning being created by the books we read with our family.

Glad you enjoyed the conversation.

That’s so cool that your son was able to demonstrate that for you! I watched a video on Instagram a few months ago that showed how locks on doors worked in the Middle Ages and it was incredible!
